Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions families ask us most — about care, placement, payment, and daily life at Elbethel.

How do I know if Elbethel is the right fit for my loved one?
+
The best way to know is to schedule a free tour. Visit our home, meet our team, see the rooms, and ask all your questions. Most families tell us they know within minutes of arriving whether Elbethel feels right. There is no pressure, no commitment, and no cost.
Do you accept Medicaid (Washington Apple Health)?
+
Yes — we are a licensed Medicaid provider (DSHS License #756264). We also accept WA Cares Fund and private pay. Our team can help you understand which payment options apply to your situation and assist with the necessary documentation.
How many residents live at Elbethel?
+
We maintain a maximum of 6 residents at all times. This small-home approach ensures every resident receives personal attention, is known by name and preference, and never experiences the anonymity of a large facility.
Can I visit my loved one anytime?
+
Yes — family visits are always welcome. We encourage regular visits and believe family involvement is essential to our residents' wellbeing. We will coordinate with you to ensure every visit is a positive experience for your loved one.
Is Elbethel licensed for dementia and memory care?
+
Yes — our caregivers have completed dementia care training and we are experienced in supporting residents with Alzheimer's disease and various forms of cognitive decline. Our small home environment is particularly well-suited for memory care because of its familiar routines and calm, low-stimulation setting.
How quickly can placement happen?
+
Placement timing depends on our current availability and the care assessment process. In urgent situations — such as hospital discharge — we do our best to facilitate rapid placement. Please call us directly at (206) 883-1443 for urgent placement inquiries.
What happens if my loved one's care needs change?
+
We adapt. Our care plans are living documents that evolve with each resident's changing needs. We work closely with physicians, family members, and DSHS case managers to ensure care always matches the resident's current condition. We communicate proactively with families whenever we observe significant changes.
